How to join an online class
Live classes happen right on the platform: a “Join the class” button in your account, the recording appears there after.
If you study in a group or one-to-one with a teacher, the class opens from your account — no more digging for a link in chat history. The button shows up by itself, works on phones and tablets, and the recording waits for you in the same place afterwards.
The video is coming soon — read the guide below for now
How to join
- Sign in and open your account.
- Find the “My classes” block — your schedule lives there: upcoming lessons and a monthly calendar.
- 15 minutes before the start the next class gets a red “Join the class” button. Press it — the class room opens and you are in.
- The browser will ask for microphone and camera permissions — allow both, or the teacher won't hear you.
Nothing to download or install: the room opens right in the browser.
From a phone or tablet
Exactly the same: account → “My classes” → the button. The room works in a mobile browser — Safari on iPhone/iPad, Chrome on Android. A few tips:
- join 5 minutes early and allow the camera and microphone straight away;
- headphones (even simple wired ones) make the sound much better — no echo for the teacher;
- prop the phone up instead of holding it: an hour is long.
The most comfortable setup is adding the site to your home screen — see the “Install on your phone” guide.
If there is no button
- More than 15 minutes before the class — the button simply hasn't appeared yet; the schedule is visible and the button arrives by the start.
- No “My classes” block at all — you haven't been added to a group yet. Write to us and we'll sort it out.
- The button is there but the room won't open — refresh the page; if that doesn't help, message us right during the lesson and we'll send the link into the chat.
Class recordings
Every class is recorded automatically. A few minutes after the lesson ends, a “Watch the recording” link appears in “My classes” — missed a class or want to revisit it, everything is there.
Paying for one-to-one lessons
One-to-one lessons are paid in packages on the “Lesson with an Arabist” page: a trial lesson, 8 lessons or 12 lessons per month. After payment the lessons land on your balance automatically, and you book convenient times from the teacher's open slots — a booked lesson goes straight into “My classes”.
